The Family Life Center is a faith-based, non-denominational outreach of the Northminster Presbyterian Church. All community members are welcome. You do not have to be a church member to attend these groups!     Boundaries in Marriage
    Using the book and video series by Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend. Instructors are married folks with years of experience. Small group discussion with other couples whose marriages are about the same length as yours. Participant issues are addressed during class and group discussion. All sharing is confidential. Each participant receives a FREE workbook to keep notes and follow along with the video. Text books can be borrowed from the FLC library. FREE child care. . Request More Info.

    Boundaries with Kids
    Next Group: February 2011. Based on the book by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. Participants receive a FREE workbook to record their learnings.     Caregivers' Group
    Who is a caregiver? You are a caregiver, if you provide or supervise care that helps a person who is frail, elderly or disabled. It can be both physically and emotionally demanding. One source of support is our educational support group for all caregivers. Meet others who share your experience, learn to care for yourself as well!     Creating Your Journey for the 2nd Half of Life -
    Meets every other Saturday, 10:30 - Noon, starting September 18. You will be guided through a series of sessions to develop your personal travel plan, covering everything from financial planning to "Aging and Sage-ing" with stops in-between for planning your healthy life, downsizing and moving, and eliminating all of that excess "stuff" in the attic.     Crohn's Colitis Support Group
    New in 2008, this is a group for those who have Crohn's, Colitis, IBD, or have a relative with the disease. Materials provided by Crohn's Colitis Foundation of America. This is an open group that you may join at any time. Meets the third Monday of every month, except during June, July, and December, 7:00 - 8:30 P.M. Leaders: Charlene Mecklenburg & Bob Mayer.     Diabetic Support Group
    This group will cover material through book review, hand-outs and in small group discussion. The experience of group members contributes to the learning process.     Divorce Support Group
    Seven weeks beginning Wednesday, October 13, 7-9 P.M. The divorce process leads to many strong feelings, including isolation, anger, depression and confusion. This group will help participants understand what they’re going through, get support from others in similar circumstances and give them tools for readjusting their life.     Everyday Spirituality
    Five weeks beginning Tuesday, July 20, 7-8:30 P.M. Based on the video series "Spiritual Literacy" by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, each week we cover a different aspect of spirituality and how to apply it to our daily lives.     Freed-Up Financial Living

    Fourth Friday Single Mingle
    Join us on the fourth Friday of the month for dinner and games starting at 7:00 P.M. Bring a side dish or dessert to share, your own drinks and a couple single friends, if you would like.     Grief Support Group
    Six week group begine Tuesday, April 27 and September 21, 7-9 P.M. Brings together people who share the loss of a loved one, to get help and gain an understanding of the grieving process.     Holistic Health & Wellness
    The next session of this group begin September 7, 7-9. This six-week group will offer self-care techniques through Tai Chi Healing Touch, and assorted other practices that draw from the wisdom of today and of the ancients.     Explore just exactly what you need to simplify your life! You will be moved gently, but deliberately, toward a simpler, more satisfying life. You'll find a lifestyle survey to help you prioritize, a daily Bible reading and reflection, a simple action step for each day, journaling exercises, and a safe place to share your insights while learning from the insights of others.     An educational support group to share information and strategies for dealing with the particular issues facing single parents.     Stepfamily Couple to Couple Mentoring
    Whether you call it a “stepfamily,” a “blended family,” or a “merging family,” there are common issues we all face. Mentors provide education and personal support to cope with the emotions and tasks of becoming a new, “normal” family, however you define it for yourselves.     Understanding and Reducing Depression: an educational class for those who think they may have depression, who feel moderately depressed themselves, their friends and family members who want to understand and support a person with depression.     VITA - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
    Computerized programs allow helpers to file your taxes online and get quicker refunds. No reservations needed, first come, first served. If you would like to take advantage of this sevice you will need to bring: a Photo I.D., Social Security cars, Medicare cards, or other evidence of SS number for all taxpayers and dependants, W-2's, 1099s, records of home mortgage interest and real estate tax paid, and any paperwork relating to Economic Stimulus Payments you may have received. Also clients should bring a copy of last year's return. Call the church at 931-0243 to find out what you need to bring.
