Habitat For Humanity

picture3Description: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard housing locally and globally by building and renovating simple, decent, affordable homes to sell to low-income families in need. Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. Northminster has helped Habitat financially and/or by volunteer work for many years. We have had work sessions in Oxford, Hamilton and Colerain Township.

How to Serve: The annual work session is announced 6-8 weeks prior to the event for online registration. Depending on how far along each home is in the building process, volunteers will be involved in different tasks such as: frame and raise walls, install insulation, dry wall, complete a roof, and install exterior siding. If the home is almost finished, we may paint, lay flooring, put in baseboards and window blinds, and generally help ready the home for the family. Habitat site leaders are great at matching volunteers to jobs appropriate to their skill levels. Volunteers are able to work from a half day to multiple days as their schedules allow.

Prayer Request: Please pray for strength and well-being of the Northminster volunteers, as well as those who work with Habitat year round. Also hold in prayer the families that will be living in the homes. Pray that they may be able to care for and prosper in their new environments.
